Charles Alday Co-Founder, Gone but Never Forgotten:

Charles brought 45 years of experience in pipeline construction, operations, maintenance, management, and consulting.  During his 30-year career with Colonial Pipeline Company, Charles spent the last six years leading the company’s Operational Excellence program corporate-wide initiative designed to eliminate pipeline leaks, spills, and errors. A Human Factors program was the cornerstone of Operational Excellence, giving Charles deep expertise in applying Human Factors to real-world pipeline operations.

Beyond Colonial, Charles provided Human Factors and organizational consulting for numerous pipeline companies, including comprehensive analyses of eight pipeline control centers. His work has included task analysis, workload and cognitive studies, and alarm management studies.

A recognized industry thought leader, Charles was a regular presenter at the Southern Gas Association, American Gas Association, API Pipeline Conference, and Control Room Forums, where he shared insights on fatigue, workload, and training.

He worked closely with pipeline control rooms and PHMSA on Control Room Management (CRM) compliance and best practices, ensuring companies met regulatory requirements while improving operational safety and performance.
