Joseph (Joe) Hedspeth is a Mechanical Engineer with 15 years of experience as a workload and human factors consultant for pipeline control rooms and 12 years as a civilian engineer working with Navy aircraft thermal management systems.
Joe supports Controller Workload and Fatigue Assessments for oil and gas pipeline control rooms to help operators maintain a safe and effective working environment and comply with PHMSA Control Room Management regulations. His responsibilities include processing and evaluating controller workload and task data, conducting statistical analysis of workload metrics, upgrading and maintaining statistical databases, performing fatigue analysis, and analyzing controller shift schedules.
Joseph holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus in Thermodynamics from Purdue University.
